What is EXIF metadata?
EXIF metadata is hidden information that can be stored inside a photo or image file. It is useful for photographers, editors and cataloging software because it can describe how an image was captured, edited and organized.
A photo may include camera details, lens information, date and time, orientation, software fields and sometimes GPS coordinates. Location data can reveal where an image was taken, so removing it helps keep the visible image while leaving private details behind.
Why remove EXIF metadata?
Digital photos often contain hidden metadata. EXIF can include GPS coordinates, camera manufacturer, camera model, lens information, date and time, device model, orientation, copyright fields, software used and exposure settings. Most viewers do not need that information, but the fields may remain embedded when an image is copied, archived or uploaded.

Supported formats
Remove EXIF Metadata supports JPEG, JPG, WebP and PNG in modern browsers. JPEG and JPG are the most common sources of EXIF camera data. WebP can contain EXIF or XMP metadata when a workflow adds it. PNG can contain metadata chunks, including text fields and EXIF-style data in some files.
Metadata support depends on the file. If no common metadata is detected, you can still export a clean copy. For adjacent edits, use Crop Image, Rotate Image or Convert Image Format after keeping a source copy.

What is EXIF metadata?

Does removing EXIF reduce image quality?
The visible image is preserved, but the browser exports a new file. JPEG and WebP output may use normal browser compression.
Will my photo look different?

Does it remove GPS location?
